Medal Design:

This circular medal commemorates the 100th anniversary of the birth of Marshal Luís Alves de Lima e Silva, Duke of Caxias.
The obverse features a detailed portrait of Marechal Caxias in military uniform with the inscription “Marechal Caetano de Faria”.
The reverse bears a wreath and crossed swords with the inscription “1º Centenário de Nascimento – 1855 – 1955”.
The medal is suspended from its original multicolour ribbon.

The reverse bears the inscription “Magistratura do Brasil – Mérito – Serviços Distintos”.
